High Blood Pressure Signs and Tips

It seems like every fourth person is experiencing high blood pressure issues. Are you one of them? Are you having more headaches? Are they becoming worse?

  • Are you tired all the time, even though you go to bed early?.

  • What about problems with your vision?

  • How is your breathing? Is it labored or too fast?.

  • Is your heartbeat irregular or can you feel or hear pounding in your chest, neck or ears?

  • Is there blood in your urine?.

If any of these is consistent, you need to have your pressure checked and a talk with your doctor. He/she may or may not prescribe medication. Here are measures that, if practiced consistently, can help to lower your blood pressure:

  • Garlic - raw garlic, whether blended in smoothies, simmered in hot water or eaten, is quite effective.

Add about 5-7 cloves to a bottle of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, let it sit for a couple of days, then start taking 1-2 tablespoons in 4 ounces of warm water, at night. If you are worried about your breath, chew on a handful of parsley.

  • Garlic capsules (Kyolic brand) seem to help some people, also.

  • Green smoothies (spinach, kale, and other green, leafy vegetables, wheat grass) with berries or green apples

  • High blood pressure and dehydration are kissing cousins. If you're not drinking enough water, your blood becomes thick and pressure elevates. Headaches also increase. Drink water (one-half your body’s weight, in ounces, daily). Do not drink cold water.

  • No fried foods

  • No red meat (or consider avoiding meat altogether. Food that take longer to digest place stress on the body's system)

  • Add flax seeds (linseeds) and or hemp seeds to your diet (buy whole seeds and grind or blend them yourself, to obtain the fresh oils that are released upon grinding.
