Arthritis and You? No Good

Arthritis and You? No Good

Last month, we discussed some of the reasons that arthritis develops in the body. Here's the link from January's newsletter. Let's look at the basic facts: arthritis, simply put, is inflammation of the joints. There are said to be over 100 different types of arthritis. The most common ones are osteoarthritis (the wearing away of cartilage between the bones, causing bones to grind against one another), rheumatoid arthritis (the immune system attacks the synovium or the lining of the joints, causing inflammation), gout (build-up of uric acid in the joints), psoriatic arthritis and lupus (both immune system disorders), and fibromyalgia (a confusion of pain signals between the brain and spinal cord). Regardless of the type of inflammation that you have, the bottom line is that it hurts. Have you been drinking the turmeric and ginger tea that we discussed? Additional Help

Inflammation is decreased by magnesium. Eat lots of dark green, leafy vegetables, like kale, collard greens, Swiss chard, or spinach. Take a supplement (magnesium citrate is good) or magnesium oil which can be applied topically. Legumes (beans) are helpful, as well as raw nuts (not peanuts). Dehydration increases inflammation, so drink lots of pure water, add fresh lemon or lime juice at least once daily. Lemons and limes help to cleanse the system, and also help with alkalinity.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Thank you for introducing me to those herbs and for helping me to understand what I was doing to my body with all that sugar. My sugar levels are finally down and my family doctor is so pleased. Your class made so much sense; I felt like I was listening to you on the radio!"
