Essential Oils - How to Use

Essential oils are enjoying the limelight and more people are discovering their uses. Having grown up with oils before I even learnt to speak, I have long enjoyed them and love sharing them with others. Oils like Melaleuca have been used for fungal treatment, Eucalyptus are used when congestion is present; Wild Orange is wonderful in tense situations. One of my favorites is peppermint as it helps with alertness and of course, we know that peppermint helps digestion.

Oils are taken from the resin and other parts of plants and trees; accordingly, you can smell the oils and, in most instances, determine right away, the part of the plant from they originate. Some oils have a woodsy, bark-like scent, some, a citrus aroma; others are flower-like or seed-like in scent.

Note that many brands of essential oils may be used topically or in a diffuser, only. In order to take oils internally, they need to be therapeutic grade. doTERRA's essential oils are therapeutic grade. Of course, this does not give you permission to chug the entire bottle.
