Health Tips for the Hot Months
Replenish your Potassium

In the coming months, you will be perspiring more. This is a good thing, as many of us do not sweat enough, as we are in air-conditioned environments, all day. Sweating is one of the body's ways of detoxing.
While you are perspiring and helping your body, you should also replenish the potassium that you will lose in your sweat. Coconut water is an excellent way to do this. The fresh coconuts are best but if you choose bottled or boxed varieties, do your research. Some have added sugar and flavoring which you do not need. Some have been heated and have no nutritional value. Coconut water is delicious and good for you - just get the beneficial kind.
Sunny with Good Chances of D

With all the talk about the ozone, people have started avoiding the sun. Big mistake. We need sunlight on our skin. Sunlight provides the best and most useful form of vitamin D and vitamin D is needed for better sleep, better weight, better hormone management - overall, better health. Get your daily dosage of 15-20 minutes, ideally between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you are at work, take your breaks outside.
Hydrate, Hydrate

With water, that is. You can also drink fresh pressed, blended or squeezed juices but avoid sugary drinks and other artificially-flavored liquids. These just make you more thirsty, in the long run, and the sugar will not serve you well. Water is always the best form of hydration. Add some fresh lemon or infuse some fruit for a twist on taste.
